A very good vest...
Date:March 1, 2011
"This vest is amazing. I ordered the black color, and it is a nice black, not too dark and not too light. Lining is very warm, yet does not shed. I've got it stuck in barbed wire before, and it did not even scratch it. Size/fit was spot on too."

"I wear this vest over a hooded sweatshirt and it gives a nice extra layer of warmth. The Sherpa lining is soft and very warm. The vest is not thick and bulky plus the sandstone outer duck is not stiff so it will keep you warmer and be less restrictive. Zipper is a nice heavy brass YKK. Pockets are not lined. No inside pocket."

Great piece of all weather clothing
Date:December 10, 2010
"I bought my V26 vest (size LT) at the end of 2007, but it didn't see much action until april of the next year due to the bad weather we had early on. If I had only known! As a welder and rigger, I try not to overburden myself with extra layers of clothing on the job site, especially when I have to put on my fall harness. April rolled around, and we lost most of our snow, but we got ambushed by a few surprise cold snaps when I wore my normal underlayers (Carhartt thermals and an FR button down) with only the vest for outerwear. That first day I just knew was going to be horrible, but the cold was no problem. I wear it almost every day it's under 70, just in case, and almost three years later, it's still my most worn article of clothing. When it was still fairly new, it even did the trick passing as a formal wear vest once or twice, and I didn't have to worry about spilling something on it and lossing an arm and leg to the tux rental place!"

Just purchased a few weeks ago.

"I just got this vest and the few times I have worn it so far I have been pleased with it. Works great for the cool Northwest mornings and evenings. Once the weather starts cooling off a little more I expect to wear it more often."

Review 9 for Men’s Sandstone Rugged Vest/Sherpa Lined
"I got one of these two or three years ago and it quickly became my favorite vest. It has plenty of room to move around in (especially around the arms). I wear it a lot over sweat shirts when I need the extra warmth, but don't want or need a coat. Often I'll wear it into June over a short sleeve shirt, sometimes just for the pockets to store tools in."

"I got this late fall, because I work in and out a lot, plus a lot of very active outdoor work. Sometimes my Carhartt jackets are more than I want/need. I wear this vest way more than I expected. It's one of the most useful things I own. And fits perfectly. I wish I'd bought one years ago."

my favorite vest

"This is my second Carhartt vest (V26 Men's Sandstone Rugged Vest/Sherpa Lined) as the first one became too snug when I gained weight. I am a union electrician, and have owned the first vest for several years, wearing it in the field every year, and it still looks as good as the day I bought it. I am a big man, and I am hard on clothes. The vest is very versatile; I can wear it over a long sleeve shirt on days when its not too cold, or under a coat when the days drop below freezing. Since it has no collar, it fits well underneath a coat. It has two large Sherpa Lined front pockets to keep your hands warm, and two inside pockets for whatever needs to be secure. It is an extremely well made product that looks great. I always get compliments from people with it and I wear it almost every day during the cooler months. It looks great either at work or going out to eat. I really like this vest."

first Carhartt purchase -- won't be my last
Date:September 29, 2009
"Love everything about this -- keeps me warm outside and inside (saving on gas bills!). The feel of the Sandstone finish is great, and it seems durable too. The Sherpa lining is thinner than I thought it would be, but it's warm, soft, and cozy."

"I was very pleased with this product. I work with horses on weekends in Scotts Valley, CA, and I liked it because it kept me warm but didn't make me too hot to have to take it off. It's very tough, yet confortable. The cow girls dig it!"
